Chris was a kind, generous, organised and fantastic man.. I know this even from the one time we met at the inaugural European conference in 2010 and numerous phone calls and emails we exchanged in my role as one of the management committee for our European branch.  His dilligence and care for the charity was something I know I took for granted until hearing of his illness when he resigned from the committee.  There is a great hole in our conference calls now but we are all grateful for everything he gave us.

This year’s Conference was always going to be a wonderful thing but now it will be even more special, done as a thanks and in memory to Chris’ s life and legacy.  Not only will be be in glamorous Milan, in a lovely hotel with a great rate for rooms arranged for us.  But also from the tireless behind the scenes work of the committee there will be a great programme, supported by the wonderful Italian branch of our group, and everyone who manages to attend.

I’m so glad to be going for all those reasons (and of course the coffee, food and surroundings) and I hope to meet as many of my European family there as possible.  So I look forward to meeting you on August 3rd.  I’ll be the curly haired grinning woman in glasses, delighted to welcome you all to our little family.
