Mark To Run The Entire Length Of Hadrians Wall PDF Print E-mail

My son, James, has 18q- and Nystagmus.  On 23-24 June 2012, I will be raising money for the charities that have helped us all so much as we have come to terms and learned to cope with his conditions - our very own C18RRSE, and the Nystagmus Network.

Realising the economic climate and that money is tight, I thought I'd better do something epic if I was going to ask you put your hands in your pockets.  So I am going to run the entire length of Hadrian's Wall over a weekend.  Carlisle to Gateshead.  69 miles.  35 miles on day one, 34 miles on day two.  Sounds simple, eh?  After completing my first marathon a few weeks ago, I am just about understanding the enormity of the challenge (and the pain it will cause!)

But, the pain, the endless training, the miles and miles of hills to run up and down will all be worth it, because, with your help, I am going to raise a lot of awareness for these magnificent charities, and hopefully, a lot of money to help them.

Can you help?

As you're already reading this, I'm guessing you have an interest in abnormalities of the 18th chromosome.  I don't need to tell you how little awareness there is out there of our conditions, or of how little money is put into research when compared to other, more well known, disorders.

Can you sponsor me through my Virgin Money Giving page?

I also have clerical sponsorship forms, if you contact me with your email address, either here or by using my details below, I will email you a form. Could you print one off and collect sponsorship from your friends, family, or colleagues? (You can put any money collected through my Virgin Money Giving page).

Anything you can give, no matter how little, will go a long way.  Please feel free to get in touch with me via the forum (believe me, 30 miles in, the recollection of your words of encouragement, and sponsorship, will go a long, long way in motivating me to carry on).

Thank you, so, so much.
